Playing with My Children

My child brought home an empty aluminium carton that day. We had a family meet at our place. Everyone, concerned about the dirt on the material, ignored his excitement. He called me and his sister in his room. I could sense their enthusiasm as they handled the carton. I let them keep it. After everyone left, we cleaned it. I carefully cut it into pieces and my children created their game play.

We experiment with things. The children are fond of the science projects we design for them. I am a teacher at the primary school and understand the importance of toys and games. Research says that the children who are exposed to learning through games become smarter adults.

I am concerned about the growing exposure to technology that our children face. In a world where technology has conquered our lives, I want my children to play games that develop them mentally, physically, and emotionally.

The old school thoughts of playing with toys and games have been my strength. When I play with my children, I learn a lot about their likes and dislikes, their emotional and mental fitness, and much more about their lives. Also, it keeps me stress-free.

I had read that the best we can give our children is our time. They always look forward to being with their parents before anyone else. Now, our responsibility is to become the superman and the superwoman our children believe us to be!
